Teri Hatcher debuts dramatically different hairstyle
Some women get a drastic haircut after they end a romantic relationship, while Teri Hatcher opted to chop her locks after concluding her long-term run on a TV show.
A month after "Desperate Housewives" faded into television history, Hatcher, who played Susan on the show from 2004 to 2012, debuted a shorter 'do at an event held at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles over the weekend. Where before the 47-year-old actress had long, wavy locks, she now has a chin length, blunt cut bob.
The look is reminiscent of the style she sported when she starred on "Lois & Clark" in the 1990s, but back then it was much sleeker and she kept it curled under.
After bidding a fond farewell to "Housewives" on May 13, Hatcher — who is a single mother to 14-year-old Emerson Rose — is already hard at work on a new gig. She is in the middle of a four-episode guest gig on the ABC Family show "Jane by Design" playing the title character's long-lost mother, Kate Quimby. She made her debut in the June 19 episode.
Hatcher will also be trying her hand at directing. She was at the helm for an upcoming episode of the teen series, which centers around a young fashionista named Jane, who is played by Erica Dasher. "I'm thrilled for the opportunity to direct," Hatcher said when her directing job was announced. "So many of the crew and cast of 'Desperate Housewives' have been encouraging me to do this for a long time … Now that I have time, I'm excited to wholeheartedly conquer new ventures. 'Jane by Design' is charming, with very funny performances. I look forward to working with new and old friends over there and helping them tell stories both in front and behind the camera."
