The Ram Charan-Upasna Kamineni wedding reception held at a city convention centre witnessed many dignitaries in attendance. Hosted by the Chiranjeevi family, the reception saw around 5000 people in attendance which included filmi folks, politicians and socialites. Mahesh Babu came along with wife Namrata. The former beauty queen and actor, who is preggers, made a social appearance after a long time and was glowing. Superstar Nagarjuna was accompanied by wife Amala and sons Naga Chaitanya and Akhil. We must add, Nag's new look, complete with spiky hair, is oh-so-hawt!

Love struck! As the couple walked into the main hall, Charan led the way, holding Upasna by her hand. Chiru and Cherry looked sharp in their suits and Upsi was resplendent in her lehenga-choli. Sai Dharam Tej, however, stood out dressed in a black blazer.

Chaos unlimited At one point during the reception, the crowd went into a stampede. The serpentine queue waiting to wish the couple extended till outside the convention centre. MPs like Undavalli Aruna Kumar, MLA TG Venkatesh and actor R Narayana Murthy were among those waiting patiently for their turn to greet Charan and Upasna. The security personnel were unable to control the crowd. A frustrated R Narayana Murthy yelled at the bouncers, saying, "We are not beggars. We are here on invitation." It didn't take the crowd too long to overpower the security to get into the venue.
Dignitaries struggled to make their way in through the surging crowds. The exit that ended in the main hall was surrounded by star-struck guests armed with cameras and cell-phones. Shrieks of excitement occasionally resounded as popular stars walked out amidst the cordoned exit. Actors struggled to enter and leave the venue. Prabhas and Prabhu Deva were stuck for almost 15 minutes in the crowd. Making the most of this opportunity, some from the crowd tickled Prabhas while the others came forward to shake his hand. Prabhu Deva too wasn't spared. But the duo took it all in their stride — patiently shaking hands while waiting to get out. Allu Aravind and Nagababu personally received each guest. The couple, even though tired with all the wedding celebrations, stood all evening greeting those who came in to wish them.

Glorious food The food consisted of vegetarian and non-vegetarian fare. The Hyderabadi chicken dum biryani, allam kodi (ginger chicken) and the chapala pulusu were popular among the foodies, with the tangy chapala pulusu being everyone's favourite. The live dosa, pasta and noodle counters were a hit with guests and the desserts that comprised of kaddu ka kheer, qubani ka meetha with cream, chocolate walnut brownie with chocolate sauce and jalebis were delicious.
